Edge Realty’s Katie Holland shares with us why she loves living in Rhode Island, for more reasons beyond the summer time! She says, “Rhode Island is an amazing place to raise a family. There is always lots of opportunitites for family fun all year long!” From the beautiful beaches, community parks and golf courses to the ponds/lakes for paddle boarding and kayaking, there is something to do for everyone.
Most people know Rhode Island as the “ocean state” and immediately think of summer. Although summer here in Rhode Island is unbeatable with the gorgeous beaches, especially in Newport which was just recently named the “third best beach town in America” by Paradise Magazine, we also get to experience the beauty of all four seasons. For Katie, she especially loves the foliage in the Fall with its vibrances and how it “sets the scene for fun hikes and of course football!” Be sure to check out places like Tillinghast Pond Management Area and Wolf Hill Forest Preserve this fall for a scenic, family hike!
The winter brings a whole new feel to us Rhode Islanders. While we still get enough snow for sledding, having the ocean nearby makes for a magical, winter wonderland. There is something so calming and peaceful about a snowy, ocean view. Beavertail Lighthouse in Jamestown is one of the best places if you are looking for a breath taking view all year round!
As much as Katie enjoys the Fall and Winter, she just cannot wait for Spring and Summer! She says, “We look forward to Spring to hike again and see nature’s beauty start to emerge with flowers and you will always find us on a baseball/softball or soccer field! Summer offers the most activity here in Rhode Island. She tells us her and her family “Love paddle boarding and kayaking at Wickford Point and Narrow River.” They love to finish the day off with a Del’s! You will never be bored living in Rhode Island, it is truly the best in New England!
